Monday, August 18, 2008 @ 11:32 AM: distance and perceptions
just saw from soki's blog
"when distance is a perception, does that mean it has unwittingly became a self-fulfilling prophecy?when distance is a choice, does that mean that a different company is preferred?"I guess I would wanna say distance is a perception by choice! But in this context, when distance is a perception, it may bridge closer or go further. It takes the two points to bridge it or break it. And I thought that in this case, Darwin's theory of evolution really comes into mind. When distance is being perceived, paths separate and other sides undergo their different experiences (just like how geographical separation leads to variations at other sides)... but ultimately when the differences in thinking and mindsets set in in perhaps years to come, ppl will come back and appreciate each other better...
and yups for the second part, it differs for ppl actually... sometimes i guess it is the personal space that each person yearns for themselves, sometimes it is really preference of another company and moving on, and sometimes i guess it is just that both do not fit in, not that both do not prefer each other? hahaha
but i hope that there will not be any distance for me and my friends! esp the first few days in cambridge where I heard I wouldn't get any internet access! OMG lar...
thank you for bringing me memories...
