Thursday, December 11, 2008 @ 6:41 AM: Cheer up!
At the request of Chieh Hwee, here I am blogging again!
Yup just touched down in Singapore just two days back, and feel that it is a good time to do a recap of what went on in Cambridge... realised I did not take photos of any of the events I've gone to, not a lot in particular, but well generally enjoyed the feel and the coolness at cambridge (we shall think of the better weather on the other side - just like how i miss the heat in Singapore)
Everytime as I was riding on the bike to sch, amidst slowly appreciating the landscape in Cambridge that I've got to pass by, feeling the occasional chilly wind blowing right into your face, and experiencing the drag force that manages to pull you away and make you stop at zero displacement though u are pedalling non-stop on ur bike, I just can't help but appreciate that hey I'm Cambridge and this should be the high time in my life! Thinking of how I can make fuller use of my time other than indulging in the rigourous academic schedule (Mind you it is a six-day work week for us), like how I could contribute to the environmental scene in Cambridge, how should I get exposed to more of the British culture, and getting involved myself in more activities...
Admittedly, I could have put in more effort when I saw my supervision predictions... not a good score card to have among the Singaporeans, but still quite a good one in my college... but in a sense, with the circumstances surrounding me, I think I did fairly okie, and at least I knew the direction that I've worked to. Had a good talk with Jackie, and yups I won't change myself to mug really hard cos I know it wouldn't work effectively for my case; but definitely a change of studying style is required.
Once a Physics lecturer mentioned "Once it is going, it keeps going"... it is particularly true in nat sci context! To see how concepts can be covered in a blink of an eye and expecting self study in the little miserable time we have left, I think it is always a challenge to upkeep. But it is also a matter of enjoying urself too amidst all the piles of work!
And definitely, I really appreciate the people around me! They can't get any better! Esp my neighbour has been a real good friend that I can look for support whenever things are down or esp I'm lazy to cook that day :-)... kimberle who is always available for a chat at godly times, jackie who is a dependable partner in bridge and someone I can really look for help, Shaoming who walks/cycles with me up and down the Tennis Court Road in between lectures and always someone good to have beside ur lectures, the other nat scis who are really friendly and approachable too!!! Besides great to know the Brits beside me, like Arun, Wilson and Yebuny... always interesting to share with them perspectives in life!
thank you for bringing me memories...
