Thursday, December 31, 2009 @ 8:29 PM: Reflections on 2009
I realised this should be typed in 2009 while the rest could wait... and since i'm feeling a bit tired-ish and groggy now (perhaps it is the mixture of orange and milo in my stomach now), I shall reflect upon 2009.

2009 marks an entire university year, and quite a return to at least some proper school routine compared to 2006 to 2008. The first piece of action I remembered was the Mocks exam, which I studied only for my Cells, and ended up failing my physics test and still achieved quite a respectable ranking within my college. Then it was days of studying, bridge action and of course meetups and cookouts which made the entire lent term fun. It was also when I got into the cumsa comm and feeling so excited of being a welfare officer. Lent term also marked pensive moments for me, as I penned down a few songs. Wu Zhu still remained one of my favourite bathroom songs these days!

Then it came to the Easter holidays where we had a fun time travelling Scotland and Ireland. In terms of visiting wise, it is very chill-lax, with most of the times taking photos (helped by our DSLR experts Ivan and Shaoming) where for scenes we would normally walk past somehow we would appreciate the beauty is everything... symmetry, neatness, randomness, a dose of mockery or fun... Be it the cold of the North Berwick or the climb of Arthur Seat or the lousy jokes of the driver, it seems to have every aspect of a fulfilling tour... It was then followed by weeks of catching up in terms of studies and the study sessions at Christ's helped me to focus and not wander off to the comp (though I became slightly distracted when we shifted to the comp lab)... and finally the exams came... though a bit disappointed, I'm glad I've still got the grade I wanted, and that's what matters most isn't it?

The swine flu scares had made us postponed our initial decision to tour Spain and Portugal, and came back earlier to Singapore for a week's worth of quarantine and had a bit of scare cos my sis coughed rather badly at that time, with the tensions relieved when she is proven fine... was really glad to have a friend to allay all those concerns at that time, and something i would always be grateful for... soon after the quarantine is lifted, it is back to normal life, meeting up with friends, playing fifa online as crazily as i could, and basically slacking...

Soon after it was the 8 weeks attachment and I was glad to have ling fan and wenjie to accompany me in the ulu jurong island. There I must say it was quite a quantum leap to what I've studied in my first year, and Gerrit was indeed a very good teacher who really enthused me in Organic Chemistry with his passion for it. I was pretty much glad to know Jiahui who works beside me in the lab, and sharing some small talk among ourselves amidst the very serious working atmosphere at times...

After which Wenjie and I decided to go China on a tour package with some elderly, and unfortunately I fell sick in Wuxi and had to come back early due to a very bad stomachache... And soon after it is Michealmas!! Went to Old Trafford to catch Man Utd vs Sunderland alone, which kinda got scary at night when my hp went flat and couldn't contact my uncle... and getting back to camb sch term started and somehow some things happened that made me rather upset... So apart from a few unhappy events, Michealmas was a largely great one... went london and watched dirty dancing with chieh, which was totally worth the money (we have got half price discounts as well and the view was reasonable), and had quite some fun at bridge... had games night which i think was rather good, hosted some friends for the oxbridge games and toured them around (I would visit Oxford in Lent term!!), NatSci Cookout which was well received, a slew of formals where I had quite a bit of wine (thanks to bits of pennying)... And at the term end, the tour of Germany, Switz and Austria with a short xmas stay at my Uncle's place!!!

That pretty much sums up the whole year isn't it? Haha... and finally a song to sign off... from my favourite singer Stefanie Sun...

歌曲:同类
歌手:孙燕姿
专辑:Stefanie

thank you for bringing me memories...

Tuesday, December 01, 2009 @ 8:36 AM: Another song by me!

thank you for bringing me memories...
Reach my prismic soul.
