Thursday, February 18, 2010 @ 4:49 AM: Feeling uninspired
Feeling pretty uninspired and pretty drained...
Just came back from a biochemistry supervision. It lasted a whole 1 hr 40 minutes! Thank goodness that I didn't promise to go for the CNY dinner given how sian I am right now... Going through the questions in which while gaining a few precious pointers, most of the time was figuring out how many protons cytochrome c complex pumps or what are the hydrogen bond acceptors or donors... And after going through 4 practical questions, it hasn't touched the real crux which I think most of us are having a bit to a lot of trouble in - the cell signalling notes... Feeling quite uninspired though I know it would be good to draw a mindmap of everything in a paper, clarifying my thoughts and some doubts to some parts of the notes, or I could even do some paper readings... Perhaps doing some organic chemistry qns should gain the momentum? Haha... Somehow chemistry B brightens up my day... even for chemistry A, i get quite a bit of disillusioned when confronted with the tight schedule and doing questions in advance. Not much time to really consolidate though well it is true that "hey isn't the notes quite complete? I expect us to be able to read up on solids in advance..."
Things to complete:-
1. CUMSA - two articles to contribute, some ball stuff, some handing over advice (and hopefully a good meal and talk with my understudy whom I hope would be receptive!)
2. Bridge - Bridge match tomorrow, next thurs, next sat(possibly)/sun - Jackie isn't the happiest man on Earth when he draws Oxford A, but well this is the best opps u can get in the earliest stages... I mean if you stay on in the competition playing against easier opps, there isn't point and probably would take up some unnecessary time when you would meet them eventually isn't it?
3. Chemistry B Qns 4 to 10 :) (I think this will brighten up my day)
4. Chemistry A rest of Keelers' qns sheet (Perhaps the weekend?)
5. Consolidating Biochemistry Cell signalling
6. Controls in Organic Chemistry (I want to really fully cover the course and questions this time, no repeat of Med Chem incident though I think I will go for those next year!)
7. Project presentation (currently quite handicapped without the chem eng textbook cos it is borrowed!)
Things that have taken place in Lent:-
1. Learnt how to cook lor bah, hokkien mee, frog legs...
2. Bike got stolen :( and police just said it is not detected by CCTV
3. AFF was good (hong kin), lent formal was quite good (shue li) and CNY dinner was fantastic (shueli and shengrong)
4. Scary marking session with Pete Wothers but it got better along the way :)
5. Applications without any news back... this is really worrying!!
thank you for bringing me memories...
