To understand my frustration with the bio notes,
here's the epic:-
"The first, the activatory G subunit, when phosphorylated by PKA, downstream from adrenaline, dissociates from PP1C, which becomes trapped by the inhibitory subunit, I-1 (which is similarly phosphorylated), so that the phosphorylated state of phosphorylase is maintained and glycogen is degraded, therefore"
1. Notice the number of commas in the sentence.
2. So is it the G subunit or PP1C that becomes trapped by I-1? (On 2nd thought it should be G subunit since it is phosphorylated)
3. And the connection between 7th and 8th comma is that PP1C cannot remove the phosphate on phosphorylase?
4. The ",therefore" is my last straw!
And the diagram is poorly drawn man... oh man...
thank you for bringing me memories...
